I see people say things like, "I need/want to accomplish [blank] so people will start taking me seriously as a [blank]".
But I think what they're really saying is that they will not be able to take themselves seriously until they've achieved their dream or end goal.
Which is a mistake.
A fatal, fatal mistake.
It's the dream, the process, the work, the messy in-between space that needs to be taken seriously.
Nobody will take you or your art seriously unless you do.
And don't forget to have fun.
That's it.
That's the blog post.
Go forth and flourish.
And get back to work!
